Graham Robinson Ellsworth Koch passed peacefully from this life on January 29th. Graham was born October 11, 1926 in Pulaski, Virginia to Julia and Arthur Koch. Graham was schooled in Pulaski and he attended high school at Virginia Episcopal School. After graduation in 1944 he entered the United States Army Air Force in Amarillo, Texas, and served three years in Germany. Then he attended the University of Virginia followed by the University of Virginia Law School. After graduation he spent two years in Washington with the IRS. The IRS transferred him to Dallas in 1954. He then joined a young law firm, Akin & Vial, where he spent the next 55 years as the firm grew to some 300 lawyers and was known as Vial, Hamilton, Koch & Knox. When he hit 75 he retired “smiling.” Over the years, he enjoyed golf and some tennis and belonged to the Northwood Club and Preston Trail Golf Club of which he served a term as President. Graham especially enjoyed his many friendships and time spent at Preston Trails. He was a member of The Salesmanship Club of Dallas and was very active with the UVA law school from which he recruited many young attorneys to the Dallas market. He was a member of St. Michael and All Angels Church.

Graham was predeceased by his parents and his daughter, Elizabeth (Lisa) Jones and a younger brother, Arthur Koch. He is survived by his son, Graham Robinson Koch; son-in-law, James W. and Bonnie Jones; and grandchildren; Elizabeth Graham Jones, Tyler Randall Jones, and Mallory Robinson Jones, all of Dallas, Texas; his sister, Julia Koch French of Washington, DC; sister-in-law Ann Koch; nephew Scott Koch; niece Nena Koch; and numerous cousins scattered over Virginia, North Carolina, and Florida.

Services will be held in the chapel at St. Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church at 8011 Douglas Avenue in Dallas on Monday, February 1st at 4:00 pm. A reception will be held immediately following the service in the church parlor. Afterward, friends are invited to be with the family at the home of Jim and Bonnie Jones at 4433 Rawlins Street. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to The Salesmanship Club of Dallas.
