José Luis Vázquez, died September 29th, 2011 in Orlando, Florida at the age of 47.

He suddenly passed away.... when we least expected it. José died of a cardiovascular disease and was working on the construction of the Neumorus Hospital for Children at Lake Nona when he passed.

José served as Master Electrician-Contractor in Orlando for 26 years. He graduated with honors and received the Craftmanship Prestigious Award for the construction of the Jurassic Park ride in the Orlando Universal Studios theme park, 55 West, the Court House in Downtown, Orlando under the direction of Tri County Electrical Company.

José was born in Gurabo, Puerto Rico, on July 18th, 1964, and moved to Florida with his wife in 1987. He graduated from Margarita Rivera de Janer High School, attended the University of Puerto Rico, Mayaguez Campus, for his degree in the Engineering Department. He received his Master Electrician License in FCAT in Orlando, Florida. He was an active sponsor and donor of the Turtle Rescues USA (Sarasota, Florida), Thanksgiving Meals for the Homeless Association and Coat for Children Christmas charity campaigns for over 20 years.

He has two children. The oldest, Ashelyn Vázquez and youngest, Luis Alexander Vázquez. His wife, Elizabeth Vázquez, were high school sweethearts and stayed together until death. He was a family loving man. One of his favorite things was spending time with the kids and family. His niece and nephew, Alejandro Ramirez and Gabriella Lopez, were almost like his daughter and son. He cared for them the way he cared for his own children and made sure that they enjoyed all of the same things his own kids did. He loved the following people very deeply too: his mother Luz Delia Torres, his father Carlos Juan Vázquez, his aunts and uncles Maria, Carmelo, Annie, Justa, Efrain, Tio-Padrino and Macho, his brother Carlos (Charlie) Vázquez and sister Limarys Vázquez, his cousin Herbert, his uncle Gualberto Vázqyez, his sister in law Norma Iris Morales, his mother and father in law Julia and Israel, his wife's grandmother Eustacia, Norma and Ramón Pérez, Luz y Angel, Esperanza, Patria, Elba (Puchi), and his best friends George Gutierrez, Tito Gonzalez, Julio Fortis, Moises Nogueras, Carlos, Yolanda (Carmelo's wife), Tonina, Irro, Josian, Nardy, David, Brian White, Damien, and Manny.

He loved boxing, baseball, basketball, museums and watching the Discovery Channel and National Geographic. He loved to eat and discover new food, enjoyed good whiskey and good music. He especially loved eating at his wife's aunt and uncle's house, Norma and Ramon. His favorite singer was Marc Anthony. He loved to dance salsa and go to parties. He was very social, friendly and above all, loyal. He was compassionate, but strong, smart, very giving but fair. He always spoke his mind and was a very strongly opinionated person. He made sure that he instilled the same values in his kids and had them volunteer every year for different organizations to show them how to be humble. He believed in working hard and enjoying the fruits of that labor.

He was so loved that at the time of his passing there were more people than the funeral home could fit and there were services in Puerto Rico and the year after in his honor. He was proud of being Puerto Rican and gave back to his community each time he visited.

José chose to be cremated and his ashes are buried in the Gurabo, Puerto Rico Cemetery along with his wife's grandfather Emilio Morales and his wife's great-grandfather Maximino Lopez. We all celebrate his life everyday.

You will for ever be part of our lives never ever forgotten my brother .Miss you so dame much it hurts as if it was today.RIP

We always will remember him, we enjoy his and his wife friendship.

I will always love you and keep you in my heart. Without you and Mom, I would not be the person that I am or have the character that I have. You both taught me to be strong, independent, educated and to fight for what I believe in while respecting those around me. Family is first and I miss you dearly.

Your cousin, my children Karla, Georgie and Alex. We'll always miss you.
