Bill was a quiet man who liked his food, his crossword puzzles, his Court TV shows and Jeopardy!, his books (he kept a ledger with all the books he read!). He was an honorary Santa during all family Christmas gatherings, consummate cards player, amateur painter and midnight refrigerator raider (did I mention, he loved his food!).
He was in the Navy during WWII; after the service he was a bread-winner for his growing family. After his retirement from his job for the US Postal Service, he volunteered for charities for the poor.
Bill was a man of firm convictions and a strong moral core.
A Russian saying goes, "Let the earth be soft for him, and the memories of him - happy'>
