Corliss Gaines

Corliss was born in Orlando, Florida on the 4th Day of November in the year 1943. She was the proud daughter of Ellis and Rosa Johnson. In her final days Corliss was no longer known as Corliss Johnson but was otherwise known as Corliss Johnson Gaines. She was married to Elijah Gaines of whom she will now meet on the other side.

Corliss resided in Orlando, Florida her entire life, in a household which consisted of three brothers, Lafayette, Lawrence and Edward and three sisters, Deborah, Lula Mae and Mildred.

John (Jack) Vanderwater Whiting

John Vanderwater Whiting (Jack), 82, of Fern Park, died Wednesday, October 11, 2017, at home with his wife and children.

Born Dec. 7, 1934 in Queens, New York, he came to St. Pete, FL at age 11. After graduating high school, he joined the Navy and served aboard the USS Renville during the Korean War.

Wilbert M. "Bill" Epoch

Wilbert M. "Bill" Epoch, 86, died Saturday, January 10, 2004 at Highline Care Center.
Bill was born in Everett to Wilbert and Ida Mae (Murphy) Epoch. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1935. During his 31 year career, he served on a total of 17 ships including the USS Indianapolis. He fought in the Pacific during WWII and in the Korean Conflict rising to rank of Chief Warrant Officer (W-4). Bill sailed around the world seven times including the north and south poles.

Ruth was born on August 24, 1918 to Mila Bell and George Harrison Turbett. After her father passed away, Mila married Theodore Brubaker.

Ruth was a lifelong resident of Des Moines and active member of Highland Park Presbyterian Church. She graduated from North High School in 1936 and maintained many long-term friendships with her classmates.

Joyce Ann Dillenbeck was born Joyce Ann Rudd in Wayland, New York on March 20, 1959. She passed away at 6:01 p.m. on August 9, 2017 in Orlando, Florida.

My name is Kenneth Dillenbeck, Joyce and I were together for 23 years. We got married on August 4, 2015, in Rochester, New York.

She worked in a homeless mission for over 20 years. Joyce had a stroke on April 2, 2017 and suffered a lot.

She was a wonderful lady. She loved people.

I will miss her.
